Annual Exhibition: Saturday 13th February, 2010
Park House School

The annual exhibition of the Newbury Model Railway Club was held on Saturday 13th February at Park House School.

There were twelve layouts including three club layouts being displayed along with eight traders. There were also several guest stands, a club stand full of information and photographs as well as a train simulation demonstration.

Visitor numbers were slightly up from last year and we received positive feedback from the vast majority including two very pleased visitors who won the prize draws, more of which later.

Our Layouts
Exdale

Exdale can be displayed in several different configurations and this year it was displayed with the recently completed country section.

The Circle Test Track always draws a good crowd as it allows many different types of locomotives and stock to be displayed throughout the day. Once again, a new record for the longest wagon train was set beating last year's record by a few (I lost count).

This year, for the first time, we decided to bring along a simply oval layout for our younger visitors to allow them to run trains for themselves.

Guest Layouts and Exhibitors
Thirdley

We had a wide variety of visiting layouts in both scale and setting along with a number of associated displays.

You can view a selection of pictures taken of the various guest layouts at the exhibition this year in the galleries section.

Prize Draws
Winner of the DDC Set

We had two excellent prize draws this year and so congratulations to the winner of the Hornby Mixed Freight DDC Train Set and to the winner of the Hornby BR 4-6-2 'Clan Macleod' Clan Class Locomotive. They both seemed very happy that they had come along to our show!

Winner of the Loco

And Finally...
Thomas

A big thank you to the visiting layouts and societies, traders and all those helped make it a success. We hope all those who attended had a great day out and that we see you next year!

If you have any feedback or comments about this year's event, then please use the form at the bottom of this page. Thanks.

Guys (and gals), I thought the show was good and a huge improvement on the last one I attended at Newbury college. It was well worth the trip and I thought the school was a good choice of venue. One of the rooms seemed to be a bit dark but that didn\'t spoil the experience. I shall definitely visit the 2011 show.
